Public Opinion Survey in Guinea-Bissau
DEMOS organized the first public opinion survey in Guinea-Bissau’s history, in 2018. For this it drew on the methodology and questionnaire developed by Afrobarometer, a scientific consortium that has carried out public opinion polls in 37 African countries over the last two decades.
Interviews were conducted with 1,184 people across Guinea-Bissau. The survey was made possible with the financial support of the European Union and collaboration of more than 50 people who helped prepare and execute the research and process the data.
The DEMOS team responsible for carrying out this project was led by Miguel Carter. In addition, Carlos Cardoso helped prepare the questionnaire, while Nafiou Inoussa designed the survey sample and reviewed the data’s consistency.
This study generated unprecedented findings about this West African country. The following project reports provide an overview of this:
